Catriona McCorry and Roisin Harper have continued to strengthen McKinty and Wright’s association with FOIL in 2017: Catriona is FOIL Regional Representative for Northern Ireland and Roisin is NI Rep for TFOIL (Tomorrow’s FOIL).

Tomorrows FOIL

FOIL is the professional membership organisation representing those engaged in the defence of insurance-related claims. Members act for insurers, self-insured companies and all authorities in the public and private sectors.

At McKinty and Wright, we aim to fully support FOIL’s commitment to: -

  • Promoting best-practice in the defence of claims.
  • Shaping and influencing public policy for the benefit of its members and their clients.
  • Encouraging a greater degree of mutual understanding between defendant practitioners and the markets they serve.
  • Championing its members’ interests within the regulatory and governance frameworks under which they operate.

Thanks go out to everyone who attended our annual CPD Session in The Garrick earlier this year and provided feedback on what you think makes a good lawyer. The insight shared by Insurance, Claims and Risk Professionals was used in Roisin’s TFOIL article in the Solicitor’s Journal, page 12 in hard copy and also published on-line.

The next Northern Ireland FOIL meeting will be hosted by McKinty and Wright on 25th October. We look forward to welcoming CEO Laurence Besemer, President Nigel Teasdale and NI FOIL members to discuss recent issues affecting insurance lawyers in this jurisdiction and throughout UK.
